Mike Daley

Sadly, the WPCS reports the passing of Mr Mike Daley of Vale stud at the age of 89. A lifelong supporter of the Welsh breeds, he served as a Trustee of the WPCS for many years and he was awarded an honorary Life Membership of the Society in 2010.

Mike took great pride in his photography and was a regular feature at many of the major shows, armed with his trusty camera.

For many years, he made high quality handmade showing canes, using the methods that his father had taught him.

He was an experienced judge of Section A ponies and he judged the Welsh Part Bred section at the Royal Welsh Show in 2012.

He was a stalwart of the Royal Cheshire County Show, acting as Chief Steward.

The funeral will be 1pm on Tuesday 22nd April 2025 at Birches Crematorium and Remembrance Park, Birches Lane, Cheshire CW9 7SU and will be available to view via live stream.
