The Welsh Breeds

The Welsh Stud Book is made up of four different Sections: A, B, C and D. Additionally, there is the Welsh Part-Bred Register, which completes the five sections.

The Society also registers animals from the five Stud Book sections as geldings once castrated.

Welsh Ponies, Cobs and their Part-Breds are also exceptional performance animals, from driven to dressage, and show riding to show jumping - they offer something for everyone.

The Society also has a number of regional Hill Pony Improvement Societies, which are managed by the local breeders and commoners with rights to graze such hills and common land, and who keep their stock in the traditional way.
