Royal Cornwall saw WPBR Highmead Picador take Champion Riding Pony and the Price Family Supreme In hand Championship Qualifier.
Highmead Picador (Rotherwood Peeping Tom x Highmead Honeybe) is a 2 year old Colt, PBW/PBA British Riding Pony, bred in Wales by Mrs Jane Mabbett of the Highmead Stud. Owned by Mrs S. Burns, produced by Mr Jerome Harforth and handled by Mr Steven Lemon.
Building on his success from 2025, where Picador had wins at Royal Bath & West, Royal Norfolk, Bucks County and was Supreme In hand Riding Pony at the Great British In Hand Show, 2026 has already see him stand Champion Riding Pony/ Part Bred Champion and Supreme In hand Pony at NPS Area 4, Nottingham County Show, Champion Riding Pony, Champion Welsh Part Bred and winner of the 125th Anniversary Bronze Medal Rosette, and Supreme In hand Pony. Now, Royal Cornwall sees him secure that sought after ticket.
Suzanne has said “I was incredibly thrilled to qualify for this most prestigious Championship as it is incredibly difficult to qualify with the beautiful animals that come forward, but this young colt is very amenable and he coped admirably with the busy ring at Cornwall very skillfully shown by Steven Lemon, I just couldn’t believe it when he was called forward. I am so thrilled for his breeder Jane Mabbett, who has dedicated her life to breeding fabulous children’s riding ponies.”
Llongyfarchiadau, Congratulations to all connections.
