Welsh Pony and Cob Society president Mike Johnston presented 52 trophies at the Thistle Hotel, Cheltenham on 3rd December to the winners of most points in the various categories.

Supreme champion with 5005 points was Jenny Webster’s section D stallion Sharmon Royal Express who had won all his points for dressage. Some of his offspring also appeared amongst the prizewinners.

Reserve supreme with 4940 points was the section B palomino gelding Barkla Royal Heir who has qualified for the HOYS ridden M&M championships for the last three years.

Amber Allington was awarded the Rookery trophy for outstanding achievement on her section A gelding Skywood Springbok. Amber, aged 9, also received a Rhydspence Bursary. The other bursary recipients were Amy Tilbury, Lowri and Catrin Reed, Jasmine Carrey and Gemma Morris.

National High-point Junior Gelding Of The Year with 404 points was Mrs H Brockbank’s Wolsdale Storm and reserve with 328 points was Tracey Hook’s Rockbury Taragon.

Champion C: Mr & Mrs Wooton’s Ellarslea Hallmark (1845)
Reserve: Sabrina Johnson’s Gorfelyn Lord Scamperdale (1525)

Champion D: Jenny Webster’s Sharmon Royal Express (5005)
Reserve: Nicki King’s Eston Conqueror (4750)

Champion small part-bred: Victoria Norton’s Mohave Mischief (2475)
Reserve: Rosemary Neale’s Ruckham Chester (2305)

Champion large part-bred: Chris Randall’s Mytice Minding Time (3720)
Reserve: Julie Lees’s Langarth Ruby (3030)
