Revised 2009 Journal Delivery Date

The 2009 WPCS Journal has been completed ahead of schedule and was delivered to the distributors on Wednesday 21st and Thursday 22nd January. The 2009 Journal will be 768 pages – the same as last year.

The distributors will start sending to members on Tuesday 3rd February the Journal ‘package’ which will also include the Spring Newsletter.

Apart from the usual Association, Overseas, Show and Sales reports there is an exciting range of articles covering all aspects of achievement within the Society and by the membership; despite the ‘credit crunch’ the Journal has been again supported with excellent advertising from the members which is so necessary if we are to maintain the standard we have come to expect with the Journal.

I also wish to congratulate the photographers for the superb standard of photographs forwarded to me for selection and also used in member’s individual advertisements. Many will be familiar with the ‘in house’ team of Carol Jones, Mike Daley and Dr Wynne Davies whose presence at sales, seminars and meetings ensures Society events are recorded; this year Milli Peel has been a welcome addition to the team. To them all my sincere thanks; their work provides the Journal with a wonderful opportunity to provide a pictorial record not only now but for the years to come.

All photographs that were sent with a SAE to the editor should now be returned. Anyone still awaiting the return of photographs should inform the editor.

I would like to take the opportunity to sincerely thank Cambrian Printers who have pulled out all the stops to meet the deadline. I hope the membership enjoy the 2009 Journal and continue to support this annual celebration of the Welsh breeds.

The Journal is a Society publication for the membership and I am always keen to hear from the membership on suggestions for improvement of the publication - be assured any comments will not be taken as criticism but as a starting point for discussion. Most will agree the Journal is not broken but ‘a review’ is an important tool in progress and should always be on the agenda to take place. I look forward to receiving ideas and suggestions for the future.

I always have an ‘open door’ for suggestions of improvement for future Journals and look forward to hearing from anyone with ideas.
