The 2010 Journal is in its final stages of production and will be on target for completion this week. This year the ‘Journal package’ will also contain Society paperwork including the Spring Newsletter. The contract for distribution has been awarded and the final date for posting has been agreed as 3rd February. The 2010 Journal will be contain 776 pages, a slight increase on last year reflecting an increase in advertising revenue which is very gratifying considering the current economic climate. Again it contains a superb selection of photographs and one can not over emphasize how important photographs are to a publication like the Journal. Apart from the UK photographers, I am in the fortunate position of receiving images from all over the world from a tireless band of enthusiasts who are always keen to share their photographs; every last one provides images free of charge to the Society – a very generous gesture. Photographs sent to the Editor with a SAE should all be returned this week; photographs sent to the Printers for advertisements will be posted out in February. I would also like to sincerely thank Cambrian Printers for again producing the Journal on time and in a very professional manner. Team work is of an essence in the production of the Journal and I am very fortunate to have not only Cambrian Printers but also the staff of the Society as willing players. The 2011 Journal will be the 50th produced by the Society and in recognition of this milestone the Council has already agreed to produce all the editorial sections in colour. Ideas are always welcomed; it is only by putting forward suggestions that changes can be made and progress achieved. Any amendments to the 2010 Journal should be intimated to the Editor in the first instance for posting on the WPCS website; all amendments will be recorded in the 2011 Journal.
