Clwyd WPCA Autumn Sale 2009

A total of 257 Welsh A B C D and Part Breds were entered at the Clwyd Welsh Pony & Cob Association sale at Ruthin Farmers Auction on Saturday September 19th. The top price of the day was for the seven year old chestnut section D mare, Morlyn Gypsy Girl; quiet to ride and drive, she was sold by Janet Prytherch to the Haddon Family from Neweaton, Warwickshire for £1900. The next highest price of £1700 was for the section D Ffrydlan Sali, a five year old mare also broken to ride. Tynbryn Duchess and her filly foal by Glanvyrnwy Coming King were sold by K W Owen to S L Jones, Pont Robert, Meifod, and Powys for £1500.

The highest priced section C was Creigllan Eryr a chestnut gelding broken to ride; he made £720 and was bought by V Morris from Mollington. A nice three year old section C filly from Christine Ingram, Newbrook Ms Dynamite, made £600 and to A Plum from Womersley, Doncaster.

The top price section B was Nefydd Biarritz, an eight year old bay stallion; broken to ride, he sold to R Ridder, Fleetham, Yorkshire at £1200. Hilin Grace, a two year old bay filly, was bought back by her breeder Dewi Evans of the Hilin Stud for £550.

The highest price section A was a lovely lead rein pony. This nine year old roan mare, Weston Pink Holly looked a picture on the day making £900 to the Roberts Family of Coed Poeth. Talponciau Squirrel Nutkin, a six year old bay gelding, was the highest priced part bred at £1700 sold to K Williams, from Prion.
