Arley Horse Trials dates announced

DATES for the 2008 Arley Horse Trials have now been announced.

The popular Pre-Novice/Novice event, which attracts around 400 competitors, is taking place on May 17 and 18, 2008 – a week earlier than in previous years.

Three eventing disciplines are included in the Arley Horse Trials – dressage, showjumping and cross country – forming part of The Pre Novice Regional Finals.

The cross country course which lies at the heart of the stunning Arley Estate, in Cheshire, has been designed by Richard Carruthers, who is also the event organiser.

It runs over undulating, mature parkland with a wide variety of fences designed to educate and encourage bold riding, but is suitable for first timers, with good alternatives at the more challenging fences.

The Arley Country Fair also takes place during the weekend – attracting thousands of visitors and spectators giving the event a special buzz and atmosphere.

As well as the exciting programme of equestrian competitions, the Arley Country Fair will include a host of activities celebrating rural pursuits from carriage driving and archery…to a medieval jousting show.
