JUDGING AND SHOWING COMMITTEE
Purpose:
To advise Council on the best way of
ensuring Judges on the Welsh Panel and shows affiliating to
the Society abide by the applicable rules as amended from
time to time and to devise a continuing programme of
appointing new judges and ensuring they uphold the integrity
and good standing of the Society.
Responsible for:

Administering the selection of new
judges and assessors for the In Hand and Ridden Panels

Organising seminars and conferences for
judges and assessors
-
Drawing up recommended practices for
shows affiliating to the Society
-
Drawing up and maintaining a Code of
Conduct for all Judges to ensure they are competent, and
maintain personal integrity and high ethical standards

Drawing up and maintain a Code of
Conduct, including use of prohibited substances, for
Exhibitors who are members of the Society
-
Liaise with other equine societies to
ensure common practices where possible

Continually review discipline rules
regarding doping to ensure they are up to date and in line
with other societies’ regulations

Assisting in investigation of any
complaints made to the Society about Welsh Panel judges,
as directed by Council.

Membership:
-
The Judging and Showing Committee shall
consist of 3 members of Council elected by Council from
amongst their number at the first Council Meeting after an
AGM.

Subject matter expert advisors
may be co-opted as required for advice on specific
subjects for a period of one year subject to the approval
of Council prior to being invited. However
they may not vote.

A quorum shall be 2 with voting powers

Committee to meet to consider specific proposals
