HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE

Purpose:      To develop strategy and policy in all matters relating to the recruitment, reward, retention, motivation and development of the Society’s staff, recommending changes as appropriate to Council.

Responsible for:

  • Reviewing, from time to time, the contracts of employment and ensuring they reflect current legislation
  • Recommending staff annual pay increases in conjunction with the Finance Committee and making a final recommendation to Council
  • Acting as line management for the Chief Officer and carrying out his/her appraisal and recommending any pay award
  • The Chairman of Council is to act as direct Line Manager for the Chief Officer
  • Health and Safety
  • Infrastructure

Membership:

  • The Chairman and Vice Chairman of Council and Chairman of the Finance Committee.
  • Subject matter expert advisors may be co-opted as required for advice on specific subjects for a period of one year subject to the approval of Council prior to being invited     However they may not vote.
  • Quorum shall be 2 with voting rights

Attendance at Meetings:

  • As for Membership above
  • The Chief Officer

Frequency of Meetings:

As required but no less than a minimum of once a year
